NEW DELHI — Society for Bright Future (SBF), an NGO based in the national capital, launched Covid-19 Help Desk last month. Today, it is giving services at 50 different places in Delhi, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, West Bengal, etc. SBF’s National Coordinator Irfan Ahmad says that his group was working to set up more help desks in other states.
Around 500 volunteers are working at the help desks which started working from April 20. Facilities available at the help desks include community awareness and guidance for hospital bed vacancy, oxygen refiling, arrangement for plasma, distribution of masks, sanitizers, thermometer and oximeter. Besides, ration kits are also being provided to daily wagers, said Ahmad.
During the last one month SBF has been able to help 1,19,681 people, according to him.
Society for Bright Future is a non-profit NGO which was established and registered in 2008. It is a specialized and dedicated national organization which works in the field of emergency relief and rehabilitation. It has been striving to develop an ability to deploy teams of volunteers at a moment’s notice. In the past, SBF has responded to natural calamities in Bihar, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh by providing first aid supplies, shelter, blankets, water, food, and other basic survival materials.
