Shah Faesal Asks UN to Designate Bajrang Dal, VHP as Terrorist Organizations

The Kashmiri men were beaten with sticks, slapped, and subjected to verbal abuses.

NEW DELHI — Reacting to the assault on Kashmiri vendors in Lucknow, IAS topper and bureaucrat-turned-politician Shah Faesal asked the United Nations and the United States of America to declare Hindu right-wing extremist groups as the terrorist organization. He also made the request to the Prime Minister office to impose a ban on these organizations.

“I request @PMOIndia to ban VHP, Bajrang Dal and other extremist organizations. @UN (United Nations) @StateDept should also designate these as terrorist orgs (organization),” said Faesal sharing the video of thrashing Kashmiri vendors. He called the incident “extremely deplorable”.

He believes that these extremist organizations are a threat to India’s secularism. “These fringe groups have destroyed the secular fabric of the country. Kashmiris are their latest target,” said Faesal.

Two Kashmiri vendors who were selling dry fruits on the roadside was brutally thrashed and abused by some people in saffron-robes on Wednesday. The victims who hail from Kashmir’s Kulgam were rescued when locals intervened. After the video of assaul went viral on social media, the police arrested four culprits.

Faesal also expressed his happiness over the arrest of the culprits made by SSP Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani, who happened to be Faesal’s batch-mate.

Sharing the news of arresting culprit, he tweeted “SSP @ipsnaithani is my batchmate and I am very happy that he has cracked whip on the goons who thrashed Kashmiri street-vendor in Lucknow. Welldone cop”.

The brutal incident of assaulting weak people drew harsh condemnation from political leaders across the parties. Khashmiri political leaders Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah also expressed their outrage on the incident.
