“Run or Die”: Starving Gazans Face Chaos, Gunfire at Israeli-American Aid Points

Date:

THE path to food in Gaza has become a gauntlet of death.

According to testimonies gathered by QNN, aid distribution points set up by Israeli and American forces are scenes of daily horror. Those who reach them risk their lives. Those who don’t, go home hungry—if they make it home at all.

No Lines. No Order. Just Survival.

Speaking to QNN, Yasser Eyad, a starved displaced Palestinian, described what happens before people even reach the supposed “safe zone.”

“Before we get there,” he said, “soldiers on tanks open fire. If you look at them, they shoot. Snipers and drones fire at us or drop bombs to stop us from getting close.”

He said many are injured before they even see the food.

There are no queues, no registration. “Whoever runs faster eats,” Eyad explained. “It’s not a system. It’s a stampede. If you hesitate, you starve.”

What Israel calls a “humanitarian corridor” is anything but safe.

People are told to arrive an hour before food trucks arrive. But by the time they get there, they are already under fire.

“There’s no asking for ID,” Eyad said. “You just run. The ones who make it get food. The ones who don’t, collapse from hunger or bullets.”

A Mother’s Walk Through Fire

Umm Amir, a mother who made the journey multiple times, told QNN what it feels like to walk six kilometers with no transport, knowing she may not come back.

“Drones hover above us. Gunshots start before we even arrive. People fall next to you—injured, dead. We step over blood just to get a bag of flour,” she said.

On one attempt, Umm Amir’s brother Suleiman was shot in the leg before reaching the site. “He’s still waiting for surgery. The hospital is full.”

She described drones giving orders over loudspeakers: “They tell us to move at noon. But as soon as we move, they open fire again.”

You Dip Your Bread in Blood”

“This is not aid,” said Umm Amir. “You dip your bread in blood.”

Every attempt to reach food has become a question of life or death. For many, there are only three possible outcomes: you return with food, return empty-handed, or don’t return at all.

People now grab whatever they can from the ground—broken food bags, spilled flour.

“Sometimes I come back with nothing,” Umm Amir said. “Other times, just crumbs.”

“There are no more lines. Just chaos. Just a race to survive.”

A Deadly Routine

According to the Government Media Office, these Israeli-US ‘distribution points’ have killed at least 163 civilians and injured nearly 1,500 since they were established.

The “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF), which operates the aid sites, has come under fire over being controlled by the Israeli military and drawing civilians into lethal traps under the guise of humanitarian work. — QNN
