Despite administrative clearance, the installation of the statue in the high court premises is a conspiracy to create caste conflict in the country, says the party
NEW DELHI – The Congress has alleged that the RSS and the BJP had sabotaged a move to install a statue of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar in the Gwalior High Court complex despite administrative clearance.
The party said it was a conspiracy to create caste conflict in the country.
Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters here on Tuesday, the Congress in-charge for Madhya Pradesh Harish Chaudhary, state president Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition in MP Assembly Umang Singhar and MLA Phool Singh Baraiya remarked that this move of the BJP-RSS revealed that they were not only against the Constitution, but also against Dr Ambedkar and Dalits.
Harish Chaudhary said that despite getting administrative approval, not allowing the statue of Dr Ambedkar to be installed is a well-thought-out strategy of RSS and the BJP. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was against Dalits, Ambedkar, and the Constitution. He emphasised that Baba Saheb does not belong to any particular class but to the whole country for providing everyone with rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
Jitu Patwari said that with the high court permitting the installation of the statute, the process has been completed. Despite this, he added, the installation was stopped due to pressure from the BJP-RSS, which is a matter of great concern. He said that those who are creating obstacles in the installation of the statue should be held accountable and made to apologise.
