NEW DELHI – Visuals of online entrance examination question paper of LLB (Bachelor of Laws) of the Delhi University) have been circulating on WhatsApp groups of students since Wednesday (9th Sep) evening after the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the examination in the morning. This is a breach of the examination rules set by NTA.
The ‘paper leak’ has upset the aspirants who say it has jeopardised the chances of the deserving candidates. The matter sent the students into a tizzy when photographs of the computer screen showing the live examination paper appeared in WhatsApp groups.
On Thursday morning, a student activist of Delhi University, Vivek Raj, filed a complaint at the Maurice Nagar Police Station in the North Campus of Delhi University. Clarion India is in possession of the copy of the complaint.
Raj, who is a second-year student of the three-year Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) course, has demanded an FIR and proper investigation into the ‘paper leak’.
“Examination was scheduled for 8 to 10 in the morning on 9th September and no official question paper is yet released by NTA or DU Administration, but still snapshots of question paper are circulating on WhatsApp and other social media”, he added.
A couple of aspirants who appeared in the test corroborated to Clarion India about the leaked questions on the screen with those in the test. Kapil Rana said, “The questions on the screen in the leaked photos are exactly the same that were there in the test.”
Ayushi Gupta, an alumnus of Campus Law Centre, DU and an online educator, told Clarion India that she had written to the Dean of the Faculty of Law. However, she did not get any response from the authorities.
Expressing her concerns and apprehensions in the matter, she wrote in the letter, “Either someone had access to a camera during the exam and the questions were recorded or someone had access to a camera before the exam and the questions were recorded for helping some students unscrupulously. In case it’s the former, such an act should be condemned as it reflects the position that exams in the country cannot be conducted in a safe manner. In case it is the latter, it puts the career of thousands of ‘honest aspirants’ in danger”.
Earlier, too, the Law Faculty had hit headlines for paper leak cases.
Despite several attempts, the Dean of the Law Faculty and NTA officials could not be reached.
