22 April 2025 adds another tragedy to Kashmir. The tragedy has shaken the whole of the world but has hurt Kashmir in particular. Nobody knew that the place where people come to feel relaxed will turn into a place which will haunt them for ever. People of Kashmir reacted to the incident in a very positive manner. They came out against it just the next moment it happened. The people of Kashmir proved to be a civilized race by offering free food , accommodation and cabs to tourists.
A Kashmir ponywala lost his life while saving tourists. He tried to snatch the gun from the attacker and got shot dead. Another Kashmir saved 11 tourists and another Kashmir guy saved a BJP leader who had come to Pahalgam as a tourist. Tourists were carried on their back by people of Kashmir and were saved. But unfortunately these events find no mention in the mainstream Indian media . They are only focused on a phrase “They asked for the religion “ forgetting the fact that a kashmiri Muslim also lost his life. But they least care about that. A tourist exposed this Godie media propaganda in a video that he uploaded on social media . He clearly says that he was put under pressure to speak against people of Kashmir but he refused because none did anything wrong on the other hand he was treated very well. The mainstream media is very much concerned about their TRP.
They don’t care what impact does it have on the general public. The communal tension in India is majorly because of this media. In a TV interview , the anchor can be easily seen stopping the tourist from speaking when started to speak about the hospitality of people of Kashmir after the attack happened. The anchor categorically told him “Yes yes keep that and tell me about how they killed after asking religion”. He was in no mood to let thing clam down because it will impact his TRP. While pulwama attack happened we saw how Arnab gosuwami was happy because his channel got good TRP. His message “We won like crazy” can never be forgotten. He was happy over the dead bodies and still no one called him a terrorists. But unfortunately people of Kashmir are being called terrorists and the Kashmiri students are being beaten for being Kashmiri, even though people of Kashmir called the attack out in one voice. Cases of harassment were reported from Utter pradesh , Haryana , Bangalore, Chandigarh , Himachal Pradesh , Punjab and few other places . But after the cases were taken up by Jammu and Kashmir students association.
Action was taken and those involved were booked under relevant sections of law. Few videos in when Kashmiris were threatened and were asked to leave also went viral on social media but action was taken and all those involved stand arrested. Mentioning all the details correctly is to tell this mainstream media that it’s not necessary to peddle lies to grab attention. People like to read truth , it’s just that you no more report it . Social media is full of hate against Muslims , especially Kashmiri muslim women . Rape threats to a Kashmiri woman in Burqa went viral on social media. Muslims in india are facing a very tough time after the attack. Right wing Hindu organizations are attacking the Muslim properties for what happened in pahalgam . A shop of a poor Muslim house hold was attacked , one fails to understand how is that poor Muslim responsible for what happened in Pahalgam. That poor household must not be even aware of a place called Pahalgam . But he’s paying the price for what he’s unaware of. The right wing organization members must be send to LOC to fight as already 10 lakh forces have been cut down for cost cutting as said by G.D Bakshi a retired army officers. If asked to go to LOC to fight the real enemies they will start hiding because they just know how to attack innocent Muslims .
Another stupid thing that this media has started is that they are asking why didn’t people save the tourists? What were these fake news peddlers expecting us to do? Take a bullet? Which is next to impossible. But that’s what they wanted us to do. Even these hate spreaders know that what they are saying is impossible but as this is getting them TRP they are very much happy with it. They should know that a kashmiri took a bullet but they don’t even care taking his name just because they don’t want people to know truth.
The security department {Home department} is with center but not even a single media house is holding the Home minister responsible for the security lapse . Even though the agencies already had the inputs that some attack many be carried out but no measures were taken to stop that attack. Their still hasn’t been anyone who could come out and take responsibility of the security failure. They are busy diverting the attention. They are busy shutting down the twitter accounts of Pakistan and have closed wagah border but the port with their favourite people are yet to be closed.
Things between India and pakistan shall be back to normal ,Wagah border shall open once again and Indus water shall flow once more but these 26 lives shall never come back and those 11 houses destroyed shall be built again but the rubble of those 11 houses shall never be forgotten. In dealing with terror civilians shall not be made the target. Law of the land calls for accountability but also makes it necessary that no innocent becomes it’s victim. For me as a Human Rights activist see no Religion, caste or color. Human Rights are same for everyone. Punish the guilty ,protect the innocent.
