Israel has approved a new facility to carry out executions of Palestinian detainees and hostages. Details reveal plans for mass hangings, specialised execution teams, and strict isolation of hostages.
OcCCUPIED PALESTINE — Israel’s prison authority has finalized plans to kill Palestinian detainees and hostages following the first reading approval of the law. The details, revealed by Channel 13, include creating a dedicated execution facility and strict procedures to carry out sentences.
Under the plan, executions will be conducted by hanging. Three guards will press the execution buttons simultaneously “to minimize psychological stress”. Victims will be fully isolated from other inmates. Only specialised volunteers will form the execution teams, trained in advance for the process.
The law prioritizes what Israel calls “elite prisoners”, a term used against hundreds of hostages taken from Gaza, followed by Palestinian detainees abducted later in the West Bank for alleged “serious operations.” Unlike some countries, Israel plans to execute sentences within 90 days of final judgment.
A delegation from the Israeli prison service is reportedly set to travel soon to an East Asian country that practices similar execution methods. The visit will study legal and procedural frameworks to ensure execution protocols align with international and domestic procedures, according to the channel.
Palestinian factions strongly condemned the approval. Hamas called the law an extension of “Israel’s racist and criminal policies,” legalizing organized mass killings. The movement urged the international community, the UN, and human rights organizations to condemn the measure, impose sanctions, and form investigation committees to monitor conditions in Israeli prisons, where systematic torture has caused dozens of deaths.
Islamic Jihad described the law as “a dangerous escalation in the ongoing extermination and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.” The movement stressed that Israel’s dual legal system punishes Palestinians while granting immunity to settlers and soldiers, violating international norms. — QNN
