HYDERABAD – Addressing over 15,000 members at the National Members Conclave (Ijtema-e-Arkaan) at Wadi-e-Huda Grounds in Hyderabad on Friday, Syed Sadatullah Husaini, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), emphasized on the need and importance of justice and moderation in society.
Highlighting the moral, spiritual, social, political and economic challenges and difficulties of today’s world, he urged Jamaat’s cadre and the Muslim community to come forward and become the torchbearers of justice and equity. He reminded members of their crucial role, noting that “To achieve the goal of a peaceful and just society, we require high moral character. This assembly reaffirms our collective dedication to our cause.”
Delving on the purpose of the Conclave, Syed Sadatullah Husaini said that “this Conclave is a platform for sharing experiences, reinforcing sacrifice, discipline, collective enthusiasm and moral strength. The widespread discussions and debates on Islam and its teachings present a golden opportunity for us. We should use this climate to shape public opinion in the right direction.”
He further emphasized that “when the definite path of moderation is abandoned, extremism arises, leading to injustice.”
Highlighting the current trials facing Muslims and other marginalized communities, he urged unity and resilience, stating, “These circumstances, although challenging, harbour the seeds of success and glory.”
The JIH President asked the members to be inspired by those who “Instead of lamenting the circumstances or engaging in blame games and accusations, focused on their work and Allah guided them. They discovered innovative solutions, adopted new methods, and conquered new milestones. Their experiences, success stories, and achievements are assets for us all. Through this gathering, this wealth of assets will be shared among members of the Jamaat.”
In addition to the speeches by the top leadership of JIH on ideological and organizational aspects, T Arif Ali, Secretary General of JIH presented organisation’s Progress Report of the last ten years highlighting the immense contributions made by JIH and its affiliated institutions to the society.
He emphasized that “Jamaat’s works related to spirituality, interfaith understanding, research and academia, social development, education, policy issues, value-based politics, justice-based economy, etc. are benefiting and transforming the society at different levels. In just last 2 years, more than 8 lac families benefited from JIH affiliated institutions working in the field of education, health and the economy. In last 10 years through 130+ interest free Micro-Finance initiatives, Interest Free loans amounting to hundreds of crores of rupees were provided to lacs of families transforming their lives. Similarly, JIH and its affiliated institutions are providing legal and financial aid to thousands of innocent people facing fraudulent criminal charges irrespective of their Caste or Religion.”
Some of the other programs and sessions on the first day of the 3-day All India Members Conclave dealt with social welfare, education and community development issues.
The Friday prayer and sermon were held within the Conference premises as thousands of JIH members gathered and prayed in unison. A special exhibition ‘IDRAAK Tehreek Showcase’ featured 100+ community and social development programs running successfully across the country.
