MATHURA – Renowned political commentator, journalist and Youtuber, Shyam Meera Singh, has emphasised the vital role of India’s Muslim community in averting a significant crisis through their remarkable patience and resilience.

Singh’s remarks came amidst growing concerns over escalating anti-Muslim sentiments prevailing across the nation. He asserted that while there is a disturbing competition to espouse “anti-Muslim” rhetoric, certain state governments, including Uttarakhand’s, are aggressively vying for the title of being the most “anti-Muslim.”

Singh highlighted instances of targeted demolition of tombs and madrasas, coupled with the alarming protection afforded to those spouting anti-Muslim slogans. He also criticised the Uttarakhand chief minister for making inflammatory statements, contributing to an atmosphere of hostility.

Singh particularly mentioned the introduction of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand and said he views the provision as a deliberate attempt to provoke Muslims. However, he commended the discernment of Indian Muslims in recognising such tactics and their steadfast commitment to preserving peace and stability.

Despite facing adversity, Singh cautioned against underestimating the strength of the Muslim community, urging sensible Hindus to stand in solidarity with their Muslim brethren. He emphasised the importance of mutual understanding and support in fostering unity and harmony in the country.
