Rashida Naz, Faizan Alam and Sana Afrin shine with exemplary marks, continuing strong academic performance by Muslim students in Bihar exams

RANCHI —Muslim students, especially girls, have shown an impressive performance in the Jharkhand Academic Council Intermediate examinations, drawing praise across the state for their hard work and academic success.

The Class 12 results, declared on Wednesday, saw students from minority backgrounds secure top positions in the science stream. The achievement has been widely appreciated by teachers, parents and educationists, who described it as a positive sign for educational progress in the community.

The biggest success came from Dhanbad, where Rashida Naz secured first rank in the science stream with 489 marks. A student of Plus Two DAV High School, Rashida’s result has brought pride not only to her school and district but also to many families who see her success as a source of inspiration for young girls.

Speaking after the results, a teacher from her school said, “Rashida has always been disciplined and focused. Her success shows what students can achieve with dedication and family support.”

Faizan Alam from Patan secured the second position with 483 marks, while Sana Afrin from Satbarwa and Akanksha Kumari from Simaria jointly secured third position with 481 marks each.

Education observers noted that girls once again outperformed boys in several categories, continuing a trend seen in recent years.

A local educationist said, “These results are important because they show that students from all backgrounds are moving forward through education despite social and economic challenges.”

The achievements in Jharkhand come shortly after strong performances by Muslim students in the Bihar Board examinations earlier this year.

In Bihar’s matriculation examination, Shabrin Parveen from Vaishali district scored 492 out of 500 marks and emerged as the joint state topper. Several other Muslim students, including Nahid Sultana, also secured positions in the merit list with marks above 97 per cent.

Parents and community leaders in Jharkhand welcomed the latest results and said they reflect increasing awareness about the importance of education, especially among girls.

A parent in Dhanbad said, “These daughters are making the entire society proud. Their success proves that talent can shine even with limited resources.”

Teachers also highlighted the role of family encouragement and consistent study habits in helping students achieve top ranks.

An academic coordinator said, “The focus should now be on supporting such students with scholarships, higher education opportunities and career guidance.”

The strong showing by Muslim students in both Jharkhand and Bihar has generated a positive response on social media, where many users described the results as encouraging for educational development in minority communities.

Observers say the achievements are likely to motivate more students, particularly girls from smaller towns and modest backgrounds, to pursue higher studies and competitive careers.
