NEW DELHI — Hindutva chauvinist and Haryana’s Bajrang Dal leader Mondu Manesar, an accused in the gruesome murder of two Muslim youths, Nasir and Junaid, continues to brag about his criminal activities by posting videos of assaulting some individuals.

The burnt bodies of Nasir and Junaid were found in a Bolero in Haryana’s Bhiwani in April this year. The family members of the two claimed that they were abducted by cow vigilantes associated with the Bajrang Dal.

On Thursday, Hindutva Watch, a research initiative to monitor reports of attacks on members of religious minorities in India, posted a video claiming that the Hindutva leader has reactivated his Instagram account which was suspended earlier.

“Far-right militia leader Monu Manesar, who is currently evading arrest for his involvement in the murder of two Muslim men, reactivates his other @instagram account with 51k followers and starts sharing videos with guns and violence. @InstagramComms earlier suspended his main handle,” Hindutva Watch tweeted this caption tagged with the video.

The video shows a smiling Manesar, with a gun by his side, posing along with a group of people holding an unnamed person hostage. The video also shows footage of the injured man being described as “Mewati taskar” (Mewati smuggler – Mewat is a Muslim-dominated region in Haryana) and a group of people assaulting an unknown person whose face was covered with stickers. In the background of the video, a dialogue is running which says that if the clash is bigger, enmity should continue unless the persons involved in this enmity should be finished off.

Manesar used to often post videos of violence and assaults on his social media accounts. These videos show him leading a Hindutva mob chasing and attacking Muslim cattle traders in Haryana and Rajasthan. The videos even show Manesar opening fire at the victims and assaulting them with sticks.

Manesar is also accused of playing a role in the killing of Waris, a resident of Mewat.

The police in Rajasthan have been looking for him in the double murder case related to Junaid and Nasir. After the latest video was posted by Manesar, social media users and activists slammed the Congress government in Rajasthan for failing to arrest him.

Prominent journalist Shakshi Joshi criticised Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gahlot.

“Saddest part is even @ashokgehlot51 couldn’t do anything in nabbing this man… these criminals will be protected in every government,” tweeted Joshi.

Journalist Alishan Jafri said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be asked about the impunity given to such people at the joint press conference he will be holding with US President Joe Biden in Washington.

“Modi should be quizzed about this in today’s press conference. Where do these thugs get the impunity to unleash this violence? Why are they not in jail despite the damning evidence in the public domain?” asked Jafri.

Tagging the Bharatpur Police, journalist Vipul said “If you are still interested in the Nasir and Junaid murder case, here is something for you”.
