Unidentified person fired at Kamruzzama from behind while he was reciting Quran
NEW DELHI — A 55-year-old man was shot dead while worshipping at a mosque in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharthnagar on Thursday morning, reports said.
News agency PTI cited Additional Superintendent of Police (SP), Suresh Chand Rawat as saying that an unidentified person fired at Kamruzzama from behind while he was reciting Quran after “azan” about 5 am in Kolua village in the Chilia area.
The police reached the spot and took the body for postmortem. They have also opened an investigation into the killing.
Report said that police claimed to have found vital evidence in the case and assured to nab the culprit soon. Three people have been taken into custody for questioning, Umar Ujala said in a report.
