NEW DELHI – A man died unattended outside Guna district hospital in Madhya Pradesh after spending the entire night on Wednesday, reported NDTV India. His wife Aarti Rajak, who reportedly did not have the money for the OPD slip, kept pleading with the staff in vain.
However, the hospital administration, in its eight-page report submitted to the District Collector, said that no one asked for the slip or money for treatment. A civil surgeon claimed that the woman came at four o’clock in the morning but did not even enter the hospital premises or ask anyone for treatment.
Collector Kumar Purushottam, asked the civil surgeon to submit a report on the matter within 24 hours. A video message on the Facebook page of the Guna District Administration also said that doctors did not ask for any ‘slip’ or money.
Rajak in her statement given to the civil surgeon said that she did not go to the counter for the slip. The video footage does not show the woman at the counter. All the slips are being issued free of cost.
“There is video evidence to corroborate the fact that the woman was not asked for money or slip. Civil surgeons informed that no one denied treatment. Still, to avoid such unfortunate incidents, an inquiry commission has been set up under Deputy Magistrate Sonam Jain and the report will be submitted by 31 July”, said the collector.
The administration, as per the information received from Jameel Khan, friend of deceased, claims that Sunil Dhakad was suffering from tuberculosis and was an alcoholic.
