Jalgaon delegation condemns the blast, seeks demolition of the suspects’ homes citing Nagpur precedent

NEW DELHI – A delegation in Jalgaon has strongly condemned the recent blast at Mecca Masjid in Ardhamsala village in Maharashtra’s Beed District, and submitted a formal demand to the district administration, urging authorities to demolish the houses of the accused—mirroring action taken in Nagpur.
On Tuesday, the group met Deputy Collector Ankush Pinate and handed over a letter addressed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister and Jalgaon District Collector. The letter called for “strict legal action” against the suspects, including demolition of their homes, similar to the bulldozer operation carried out against Fahim Khan, an accused in last month’s Nagpur violence.
Ali Niaz Ali Syed, in-charge of Sunni Eidgah and Jamia Masjid Nematpura (Bhilpura), stated, “We have demanded that just as Fahim Khan’s house was bulldozed, the same should be done to the terrorists responsible for the Ardhamsala blast. This will send a clear message that the government acts against crime, not religion or caste.”
The delegation, which included prominent local figures such as Ayaz Ali Niaz Ali, Khalid Bagwan, and Sheikh Jamil, emphasised the need for impartial justice. “The law must treat everyone equally. If bulldozers were used in Nagpur, they should be used here too,” said Sheikh Shafi, another member.
The explosion at Mecca Masjid has heightened tensions in the region, with pressure mounting on the authorities to take decisive action. No arrests have been announced yet, but the delegation’s demand reflects growing public anger over the attack.
Deputy Collector Pinate confirmed receiving the letter and assured that the matter would be forwarded to higher authorities for consideration. Meanwhile, police investigations into the blast continue.
