NEW DELHI – Betul Police in Madhya Pradesh has taken cognizance of the complaints filed against a police officer for using communal tirade against Muslim community during a communal clash and ordered probe into the matter.

A video posted by a journalist Kashif Kakvi in Madhya Pradesh shows that a police officer was using anti-Muslim diatribe while talking to a group people.

“Tum logon ko Bharosa hai kya Musalmano par? Itne bharose wale to wo log hain nahi, wo jis thali me khate hain usi mein chhed krte hain (Do you trust Muslims? They are not trustworthy. They bite the hand that feeds them)” the police officer can be heard saying in the video.

The police officer in the camera has been identified as head constable Prahlad Dhruve. He made these derogatory remarks while resolving the issue of Dargah renovation in MP’s Betul district. The incident happened last week.
After the video surfaced on social media, complaints were registered with the local police.
Bhim Sena in MP registered complaint against Dhruve with the police seeking legal and departmental action against him.
Talking to media, Pankaj Atulkar, State Co-ordinator of Bhim Sena , said “Such people are dangerous for the society, we have filed a complaint against him and we want stringent action against him, so no other person can think of creating a drift between two communities by saying communal things”.
Betul SP Seemala Prasad said that a show cause notice has been served to the erring police officer.
