NEW DELHI – A temple priest in Kerala, who was suspiciously moving around wearing burqa, was caught by public and handed over to Police on October 7.

However, Police let him go after his relatives reached Police station as there was no complaint against him for committing any crime, reports PTI.

The man, identified as Jishnu Namboothiri (28), is working as a priest at a temple near Meppayur, Kozhekode.

“They found him wandering in a burqa and handed him over to the police. However, there was no complaint against him for committing any crime. So, we let him go after his relatives reached the police station,” the police said.

He told the police that he was wearing a burqa as he had chicken pox. The police, however, said they could not find any traces of chicken pox on the preliminary examination.

They verified his name, address, and other details and let him off.
