Kerala BJP Livid As Book on Modi Removed from Display at Calicut University

Date:

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM — The Kerala unit of the BJP has strongly condemned the removal of a book on Prime Minister Narendra Modi titled ‘Modi@20 Dreams Meet Delivery’ from the display box at the Calicut University library.

State BJP president K.Surendran said this is a clear case of a “pro-Pakistan” approach by succumbing to the pressure of such anti-national forces.

“The authorities have failed to uphold the dignity of the Constitution and Democratic rights. Modi has not come to power through the backdoor, but has won a swashbuckling victory and retained office in 2019. A book on the Indian PM not being allowed to be displayed is nothing but ‘Talibanism’. Strangely, this has happened when the ruling Left speaks so much about the “right to expression. We will not allow this,” Surendran asserted.

As a mark of protest, the BJP will organise a book festival in all educational institutions in the state.

Surendran also reportedly warned that if the university authorities do not withdraw the ban, they will have to face serious consequences. — IANS
