GAZA CITY — At least one Palestinian was killed and several others injured in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, marking yet another violation of the ceasefire agreement, now in its third week.
The Israeli military confirmed its forces carried our an attack on Saturday in the Nuseirat camp in centra Gaza, claiming it targeted a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group with “a precise strike” as he was planning to carry out “an imminent terrorist attack” against Israeli troops without providing any evidence. The Palestinian group rejected the Israeli claims.
The drone attack killed one and injured four others.
Several others were also inired by Israeli fire, most recently firing at fishermen off the coast of Gaza City and an area east of Khan Younis.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces have destroyed more land and homes in the eastern parts of Gaza, beyond the agreed-upon yellow line, where Israeli forces have agreed to withdraw to with endless explosions being heard.
A child was seriously wounded by Israeli fire northwest of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday. Another two people were wounded in an Israeli air strike on a civilian vehicle in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry on Saturday, a total of 93 Palestinians have been killed by Israel since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11. A further 324 people have been injured since, the Ministry added.
The Ministry said that the toll of Israel’s two-year genocidal war has risen to 68,519 people killed and 170,382 people injured since October 7, 2023.
Since the ceasefire came into effect, Israel has violated the truce more than 80 times, said the Gaza Government Media Office. The violations included crimes of direct gunfire against civilians, deliberate shelling and targeting, and the arrest of a number of civilians, reflecting the occupation’s continued policy of aggression despite the declared end of the war, said the Office. — QNN
