UN special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese said “Israel has killed a higher share of population in Gaza (1.1 per cent) than that killed during the Russian invasion of Ukraine (0.2pc) and the war in Iraq (0.8pc).
“In much shorter time. No war in this century comes even closer to Israel’s extermination campaign in Gaza,” she said.

Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, has said that it is time to ask for “justice for all”.
In a reply to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’s post on X, she said “hostages must be released immediately. And so the thousand Palestinian prisoners arbitrarily detained by Israel.”
“Please do not forget them,” she added.

Israel municipality of West Jerusalem forces Palestinian to self-demolish his home
The Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem forced a Palestinian resident of the Az-Za’ayyem neighbourhood, in Jerusalem, to self-demolish his home, Wafa reports.
The house owner, Dirar Darwish, said the Israeli municipality gave him 24 hours to demolish his 100 square-meter house, a home for five people, or else the Israeli municipality would demolish it and obligate him to pay the exorbitant costs.
