NEW DELHI — Muslim leaders in India have condemned the heinous attack on a Gurudwara in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, on March 25, Wednesday, causing the death of 25 Sikhs. The blame is laid on ISIS.
Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission, condemned the attack and called for the severest punishment to the criminals who planned, executed and/or supported this crime. Dr. Zafar called upon the Afghan authorities to arrest these criminals and execute them at the ‘earliest’.
NO RELIGION ALLOWS VIOLENCE
The attackers drew sharp criticism from many leading figures of the Islamic community. “Leave alone Islam, no religion permits violence,” said president of the All India Muslim Majlise Mushawarat, Naved Hamid.
Hamid said terrorist organisations like the ISIS have nothing to do with Islam. “These forces don’t want peace to prevail in the world”, he said while also admiring the peaceful behaviour and contribution of the Sikh community to societies across the world. “Also this attack is part of the larger geo-politics,” said Navaid Hamid.
My heart weeps to see the video of the blood of peaceful #Sikh worshipers killed by terrorists in terror attack on #KabulGurdwara being washed away. These terrorists are followers of Satan; have nothing to do with Islam & are indeed against human values. https://t.co/VwChKRrQ6Z

It is widely understood and acknowledged that attacks on humanity have no place in any religion. Shahi Imam of Masjid Fatehpuri in Delhi, Mufti Mukarram, termed the incident anti-Islam. “We have responsibilities of protecting the religious places of ours and others. We console them in this situation and share their grief,” he added.
“It is high time that the entire world unites to dismantle such terrorist organizations and works towards promoting brotherhood, peace and love among members of all religions and regions,” said Professor Majid Jamil, Secretary of Jamia Teachers’ Association, in his statement to the media.
JAMIA TEACHERS’ CALL
The Jamia Teachers’ Association also appealed to the majority community in Afghanistan to reach out to the Sikh community with a helping hand and extend full support to eradicate the roots of barbarism from their land.
“The majority community should share the pain of the grieving Sikhs and take a pledge to stay united and do everything possible to avoid such anti-humanity acts in the future”, Prof Jamil added.
The Teachers’ Association believes that in these times of fight against communalism and global health crisis, the act of violence in Kabul showed that such terrorists “have only one aim and that is crimes against the humanity.”
ISIS DEADLIER THAN CORONA
Dr Zafarul Islam Khan said ISIS is deadlier than the Corona virus and should be mercilessly exterminated from the face of the earth. Anyone, Muslim or otherwise, supporting ISIS is an enemy of Islam, Muslims and the humanity.
“ISIS is a fanatic organisation which relies on the ideas of Khawarij outlaws who reared their heads in early Islam and were rejected by Muslims all these past 15 Centuries,” said Dr. Khan, shedding light on the ideology of terrorist organizations.
