NEW DELHI — Like rest of the country, Uttar pradesh is grappling with severe shortage of medical oxygen amidst deepening coronavirus crises. To address the problem, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has come up with an idea which has stunned everyone. He has asked his officials to coordinate with scientists at the premier Indian Institute of Technology- Kanpur to find a possibility of “converting nitrogen into oxygen”.
The suggestion has triggered a wave of funny comments and memes on social media as users think that the chief minister asking the experts to do what was scientifically impossible. And they responded by making fun of it.

CM Adityanath wants to explore the possibility of converting nitrogen to oxygen.
It's so simple, just give two bags of rice to nitrogen & it'll convert with the whole periodic table.

Another user suggested that experts should not stop at just nitrogen but convert all other elements.
And yet another user shared funny meme that mocks the trademark policy of the Adityanath of changing the names places with Muslim names to set right what he thinks are historical wrongs.

Sangmitra, another user, expressed her surprise that the UP CM knew that there was an element named nitrogen.
So Yogi knows that there is a gas called 'nitrogen'! Impressive.

Dr Aman Kashyap sarcastically took a dig at scientists for having not been able to add one proton to nitrogen to make it oxygen.
That's almost easy
Nitrogen atomic number = 7
Oxygen atomic number = 8
Just adding one proton and Nitrogen becomes Oxygen
How on earth not a single scientists was able to think of it

Another user said that Adityanath, by suggesting conversion of nitrogen to oxygen, was going against his own set law of anti-conversion that was enacted last year to effectively ban interfaith marriages.
Are you sure this Nitrogen to Oxygen thing will not violate the anti-conversion laws of UP? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/aRQDEDQhKP
