BAREILLY – Influential cleric and head of Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC), Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, has raised serious concerns regarding what he describes as a concerted effort to humiliate Muslims through various means, including alleged attempts to convert Muslim girls and drug addiction among Muslim youth.
In a video statement posted on IMC’s official page, Maulana Tauqeer expressed his apprehensions, stating, “The pride of Muslims is dead… There is a big conspiracy behind converting girls’ religion.” He highlighted that efforts to convert Muslim girls and arrange marriages under dubious circumstances are part of a larger agenda aimed at demeaning the Muslim community.
Furthermore, Maulana Tauqeer accused certain forces of targeting Muslim youth by promoting drug addiction. He alleged, “In Muslim areas, Muslims are being made addicted to drugs by making them sell drugs. Behind this, a campaign of RSS is working.” He emphasised the detrimental impact of these activities on Muslim families, lamenting that youth are neglecting their responsibilities and losing touch with their cultural values.
Addressing internal challenges within the Muslim community, Maulana Tauqeer called for collective efforts to reform and uplift Muslim youth. He urged imams and community leaders to engage actively in societal reform initiatives, stating, “If we succeed in correcting our youth, then everything can be set right.” Maulana Tauqeer proposed a grassroots approach, advocating for mosque leaders to conduct door-to-door campaigns to promote moral values and responsibility among Muslims.
Confirming the authenticity of Maulana Tauqeer’s statement, IMC media in-charge Munir Idrisi stated: “Two days ago, responsible individuals met with the IMC chief to discuss concerning incidents within society.” He affirmed that Maulana Tauqeer’s video addresses these issues and outlines steps for societal improvement.
The statement by Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan has sparked discussions within the community, highlighting ongoing challenges and the call for proactive measures to safeguard Muslim interests and values.
