Unable to prevent rape, the UP government, instead of getting justice for the girl’s family, was again suppressing facts to save the accused, said Rahul Gandhi

NEW DELHI — As the news of another Dalit girl being raped and murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki area appeared in the media on Friday, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi hit out at the Yogi Adityanath government and asked how many more incidents like Hathras will take place.
Rahul Gandhi in a tweet in Hindi attacked the Uttar Pradesh government. “How many more girls? How many more Hathras (incidents),” he asked.
दुष्कर्म रोकने में नाकाम यूपी सरकार एक बार फिर पीड़ित परिवार को न्याय दिलाने की बजाय तथ्य दबाकर आरोपियों को बचाने में लगी है।

Congress leader also attached a media report in the tweet which said that a Dalit girl in Barabanki was allegedly raped before being killed and the girl’s family members accused the police of trying to cover up the case.
Rahul said that unable to prevent rape, the UP government, instead of getting justice for the girl’s family, was again suppressing facts to save the accused.
The Yogi Adityanath government is facing severe criticism for its handling of the Hathras case in which a 19-year old Dalit girl died after she was reportedly raped and brutally tortured by four men belonging to upper caste last month.
The incident had rocked the nation as protests, against the incident and cremation of the victim in the dead of night, erupted from different quarters in the country.
