NEW DELHI — Hate speeches against Muslims are being delivered with impunity despite a recent Supreme Court directive to book hatemongers even without a formal complaint against them.
In the ongoing 7-day ‘Annual Hindu Rashtra Mahotsav’, organised in Goa by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Chetna Devi aka Yati Maa Chetnanand Saraswati, head of a Meerut-based outfit called Akhand Hindustan Morcha, spewed venom against Muslims, alleging them to be indulging in necrophilia and targeting Hindu women.
The hate speaker also called for the formulation of stringent laws criminalising ‘Love Jihad’ and forced religious conversion, treating the said crime to be as big as committing genocide.
Hindutva Watch, an independent initiative which monitors reports of hate speeches and attacks on minorities and marginalised communities in the country, on Monday uploaded a video showing the priestess and other speakers delivering her diatribe against Muslims.
‘The Kerala story’ movie, she said, has depicted how “our struggle since the last 10-12 years, all our work, was the truth, it was for the protection of our daughters.”
She called for a stringent central law on the issue of “Love Jihad”. It should be so severe, she said, that it scares the ‘Jihadis’ to their core.
The law should treat ‘Love Jihad’ as a genocide or an organised crime, she said.
Many such hate speeches targeting the Muslim community are being made at the Goa convention which has both online and offline participation.
Ranjit Savarkar, grandson of Hindutva ideologue V.D. Savarkar, on Friday called for an economic boycott of the Muslim community and exhorted Hindus to carry out the “only Hindu-to-Hindu” trade.
Ranjit Savarkar also asked Hindu seers to tell their followers to eat only ‘jhatka’ meat so that “our money” does not go to Muslim butchers, media reports said.
