Christmas prayers disrupted in Pataudi, Gurugram:
“We aren’t disrespecting Christianity,” the man on stage says.
He tells the kids, “The destruction of Indian culture has started, you all have to resolve to stop it. With the same resolve say, Jai Sri Ram! Sanatan Dharam ki, Jai!” pic.twitter.com/XoHHvATFPn— Aishwarya S Iyer (@iyersaishwarya) December 25, 2021
Videos of the episode doing rounds on social media show how the intruding mob had their way pushing choir members down the stage snatching the microphones from their hands.
When asked about the incident, Pataudi station house officer (SHO) Amit Kumar said the police did not receive any complaints.
The news agency quoted a local pastor as saying, “It was scary as we had women and children around in the church. The nuisance is increasing with each passing day. It’s an infringement of our right to pray and religion.”
The Hindutva hate-brigade, who disrupted the Friday namaz threatening Muslim worshippers against offering namaz at open spaces, not even at designated sites, seem to have managed the Chief Minister to come out in their favour. Khattar told the state assembly on Tuesday, “No member of any community should hold religious prayers in public places.”
