NEW DELHI — The Hindu Mahasabha has renewed its resolve to install busts of Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi and Narayan Apte at its office in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
This comes four year after the authorities had confiscated and removed a bust of Godse.
The supporters of the extremist outfit last week reportedly collected soil from the Ambala jail where Godse and Narayan Apte were executed, to use it for making the statues of the two men.

This soil will be used to make the statues of Godse and Apte and they will be installed at the Mahasabha’s office in Gwalior,” Jaiveer Bharadwaj, Hindu Mahasabha national vice-president was quoted in The Hindu.
The Hindu Mahasabha organised an event on Monday at its office in Gwalior to mark death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Godse and co-conspirator Narayan Apte.
The activists performed some rituals, including worshipping the bust of Godse, and disappeared from the venue with the bust before a police team in plainclothes could reach the office, the report cited a source saying.

Hindu Mahasabhi has installed the busts of Godse and Apte at ‘Balidhan Dham’ in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh and vows to install the busts in every state.
Meanwhile, in Gujarat’s Jamnagar, Congress workers on Tuesday morning demolished a statue of Godse that was installed by Hindu Sena members a day earlier.
A video surfaced on social media where a group of Congress leaders wearing saffron mufflers led by city president Virendra Sinj can be seen pulling down the statue.
