NEW DELHI — The body of a 28-year-old Muslim auto driver, who went missing a couple of days back, was found in a field of Lakhuwas village of Haryana’s Sohna district on Monday. Family members allege that the deceased, Aamir Khan, was beaten to death as his body was full of injury marks.
The body was wrapped in a bedsheet at a little distance from the auto, which was also badly damaged. The body was first found by some villagers who then alerted the police. The body was taken to a hospital where family members identified it.
Aamir Khan, whose parents lived in Haryana’s Nuha, was residing in Badkhal village of Faridabad district. He was missing since 19 August. Distressed family members got to know from some other auto drivers that Aamir had taken some passengers towards Mewat.
Shahruna, sister of Aamir, said he was probably killed on the night when he had gone missing. His entire body was swollen, she said.
“While looking for my brother, I went to a local hospital where I found his body which had landed there at that time. When I saw the body, there were a lot of injury marks on the head from all sides. He was badly beaten up. His face was also disfigured. I don’t know as to what objects he was beaten up with,” she was quoted as saying by the local media.
Shahruna said that Aamir was the sole breadwinner of the family. The deceased is survived by three small children and a widow.
“I want to say that what happened to my brother should not happen to others. I appeal to the police to provide justice to us,” she said.
Police have started an investigation by registering a case of murder at Sohna city police station. According to the police, some women saw the body in the field early Monday.
No arrests have been made till now.
