GAZA CITY — At least 70,100 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s genocide in Gaza since October 2023, as Israel continues to attack the war-torn enclave and violate the fragile ceasefire.
On Saturday, the Ministry said about 70,100 people have been killed across the Gaza Strip since Israel’s genocide began. More than 170,900 others have been wounded.
The Ministry’s death toll comes as Israel continues to attack the Palestinian enclave despite the ceasefire which was signed on October 10.
On Saturday, two children were killed in an Israeli drone attack on the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Local sources confirmed that Israeli drones dropped a bomb on a gathering of civilians near al-Farabi School, killing two brothers, Juma and Fadi Tamer Abu Assi.
The attack took place behind the so-called “yellow line”, a vague, invisible demarcation line separating the Israeli occupation forces from certain areas of Gaza, while maintaining control over approximately 50% of the enclave. Sources added the two brothers were not aware of the existence of the invisible line.
Also on Saturday night, the Israeli forces launched ground, naval, and air attacks on several parts of Gaza, including in the Tuffah neighbourhood, in the east of Gaza City.
According to Gaza’s Government Media Office on Friday, at least 535 Israeli violations have been documented since the ceasefire took effect.
“The humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating at an unprecedented rate, and the Israeli aggression has destroyed infrastructure and essential services,” Ismail al-Thawabta, director of the office, said. — QNN
