Faith can be truly liberating
When unalloyed with self;
Faith is not Religion
Which sits on a pile of pelf.
Faith springs from Intelligence
Which springs from Love;
Love makes no distinctions
Between the ‘high’ and the ‘low’
Faith scoffs at fear of death,
Faith asks no favours;
Faith feels its pain with joy,
Faith never wavers
In the face of oppression
From satraps of the day;
Faith is lord of aloneness,
Faith is forever gay.
Faith sees through flesh and bone,
And knows a nothingness
Which is the universal progenitor
Of all that there is.
Faith does not shirk its work
Of making moments resplendent,
Of standing with the succourless
Whom the brutes have shunned.
