NEW DELHI — Newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ravinder Singh Negi has threatened to run bulldozer on the properties of a Muslim man on camera in Pratapganj in Delhi, and posted the video on his social media.
Negi, a councillor who is notorious for targeting Muslims and their business, has been elected as MLA from Patparganj constituency in Delhi. On Thursday, he posted a video showing that he is threatening to run the JCB on the properties of a man Abdul Raheem. He also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Harsh Malhotra and BJP chief JP Nadda.
Negi, who is flanked by a crowd including the policemen, said “you must vacate the land else big action will be taken. You will be trapped in the action for whole life. And the addiction habit of local people should also stop”.
The Muslim man is seen denying to the allegation of addictive activities in the area. However, Negi, ignoring the man kept spewing hate and threatening to bulldoze his property.
Negi alleged that the land belongs to the government and threatened to run the JCB on their properties.
Upon asking the muslim man his name, the BJP leader tells him, “Abdul bhai, I will run the JCB here, everything here will be destroyed in a minute,” threatened Negi.
The newly elected MLA claimed that the land belongs to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
The action of Negi has come under criticism for targeting poor people soon after he was elected as the MLA.
“The BJP MLA considers himself above the law. It has not even been a week since he became an MLA, he has not even become the CM of Delhi yet but the BJP’s hooliganism has started. If this laborer’s name is Abdul, then do not be happy, just as the MP @SanjayAzadSln has been saying that “if the BJP government is formed, then they will run a bulldozer on the hut of every poor laborer”, it will happen like that, they will neither spare Amit nor Sumit nor Gurdeep and Abdul, they will show their hooliganism on the poor and will destroy every poor person with a bulldozer!,” said Journalist Zakir Tiyagi.
NSUI leader Anish Kansal said “Mr. @ravinegi4bjp, the newly minted MLA, if the land is Sarkari, maybe take a moment to grasp the basics—Mister. Sarkar isn’t your personal fiefdom; it’s by the people, for the people, to the people. But of course, politicians like you only flex power in front of the powerless. If you really have the guts, try facing the people when they decide to show you what real power looks like”.
A social media user Shami said “When such bastards become leaders and MLAs, they make life difficult for the poor. If the leader is Islamophobic and the poor person is a Muslim, it becomes icing on the cake. When goons do politics then hatred will only increase in the country”.
Meanwhile, another video of Negi threatening to jail a teenager for sitting in front of a house has also gone viral on social media. The BJP leader suddenly held a teenager and asked where is his home? When the teenager said his home is just in the next street, Negi went on to ask why is he here? Then, the BJP leader threatens to put him behind bar.
In past many such videos of Negi harassing the Muslim residents, vendors and shopkeepers have gone viral. In those videos, he can be seen forcing to change the name of their shops or removing the shop from particular place.
During an election rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can be seen bowing down in front of Negi stirring controversy.
