NEW DELHI – Days after hate speeches at Mahapanchayat held in support of those arrested for lynching Asif Khan, Karni Sena chief Suraj Pal Singh Amu was appointed by the BJP as party’s spokesperson in Haryana.

BJP Haryana president Om Prakash on 11 June shared a list of his new team on Twitter, which includes the name of Amu.

Ammu has landed into controversry when he made provocative speeches at the Mahapanchayat held at Indri village of Mewat to demand the release of accused arrested in Asif’s lynching case. He supported the killing of Asif saying that he was murdered because of his deeds

”Can’t we even murder them?” Ammu said in his speech.

After the speech surfaced on social media, many demanded his arrest. But the Hindutva party went on to appoint him as spokesperson.
