Party spokesperson Ms Supriya Shrinate claims the BJP leaders feign ignorance and resort to blatant lies over technical glitch to divert attention away from real issues like ‘Vote Chori’
NEW DELHI — Exposing the ignorance and blatant lies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders over a technical glitch on ‘X’ which showed various account locations erroneously outside the country, the Congress on Thursday caught the ruling party on the wrong foot and pointed out its hypocrisy. ‘X’ product head and the platform have already clarified that the location errors were due to technical glitches, the party claimed.
Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters here, party spokesperson and the Chairperson of the Social Media and Digital Platforms, Ms Supriya Shrinate, said that the BJP’s purpose was to divert the attention from various pressing issues in the country and in the process, it has tried to create an issue so foolishly.
She pointed out that the ‘X’ product head had clarified that the display of erroneous locations was due to technical glitches and they were being rectified.
Catching the BJP on the wrong foot and exposing their sheer hypocrisy, she pointed out that the BJP Gujarat’s ‘X’ account was shown being operated from Ireland and that of the party’s favourite Adani Group’s account was shown to be operated from Germany, Start Up India from Ireland and DD News from the United States.
“Are they all also anti-national as the BJP has been accusing the Congress leaders of being anti-national, whose accounts were showing from different locations?” she asked, while pointing out that the ‘X’ had also attributed the reason for such erroneous locations as travel or temporary relocation.
Leaders like Pawan Khera have already clarified that they use VPN, which could be another reason for erroneous location.
Taking on the BJP for cutting a sorry figure and creating an issue where none exists, she told its leaders that the whole exercise exposes their dumbness and duplicity.
The Congress spokesperson also expressed her disappointment over the mainstream media overlooking the issue of 26 BLOs dying in the last 20 days due to work stress on account of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls or a dead BLO’s family claiming he was under pressure to delete names of OBC voters, or China claiming Arunachal Pradesh as its own territory.
She noted that all the anger, which was being ignored by the mainstream media, was being reflected on social media platforms and this is nothing but BJP’s silly attempt to discredit those questions and people asking them and divert the attention by using the technical glitch, which had been accepted by the ‘X’.
She said, the BJP was trying to use this issue to divert the attention from the ‘vote-chori’ (vote theft) in Bihar where it was obvious from the results that the alliance that was in power for 20 years had an unprecedented strike rate of 93 percent.
She also quoted the family members of Nitin Yadav, a BLO from Gonda in Uttar Pradesh, who said that he was being forced to delete the names of the OBCs from the voter lists.
Ms Shrinate also referred to the massive discrepancies in Maharashtra local bodies elections where 11 lakh duplicate votes were reported from Mumbai alone and 600 voters were found to be registered in two tuition centres or 3,500 voters with fake addresses in a single ward or 11 lakh duplicate voters in Mumbai – all this while Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioners Gyanesh Gupta staying conspicuously quiet.
