HYDERABAD — According to party sources, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will campaign for the Telangana Assembly polls along with Congress President Rahul Gandhi next week, reports PTI.
TDP chief will take part in electioneering with Rahul Gandhi in Telangana on November 28 and 29, sources said.
As part of “grand alliance,” comprising the CPI and Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS), Congress and TDP are contesting the state assembly poll to be held on December 7.
The Congress has invited TDP and other alliance partners to attend UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s public meeting at Medchal.
The Telangana Legislative Assembly was prematurely dissolved in September as per a recommendation by the state cabinet. The Assembly polls were originally scheduled to be held along with Lok Sabha elections next year.
Mr Naidu, who met Rahul Gandhi early this month, has been making efforts to bring all non-BJP parties together to form a grand alliance to take on Narendra Modi government in next general elections in 2019.
