NEW DELHI — Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar, the BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly constituency, faced criticism from opposition members while taking his oath as a Lok Sabha MP. After his oath, Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar raised slogans of “Jai Hindu Rashtra,” which resulted in immediate backlash.
Opposition members reacted strongly, shouting slogans and labeling his statement as an “anti-constitutional move,” reported Vartha Bharati.
They demanded that his words be removed from the record. At the time of the incident, Faggan Singh Kulaste was presiding over the session as the Speaker.
