Attempt to Vandalise 400-Year-Old Shrine in UP’s Kannauj Sparks Outcry

NEW DELHI – Miscreants attempted to vandalise the 400-year-old shrine of Pathan Shah Baba in Kannauj’s Tajpur Nokas locality, sparking public outrage.

Local authorities reported that a crowd quickly gathered at the site as news of the desecration spread. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, registering a case against unknown individuals involved in the act, media reports reaching here said on Monday.

The shrine, situated in Sadar Kotwali’s Tajpur Nokas, holds significant historical and cultural importance, standing as a symbol of the region’s rich heritage for over four centuries. The vandalization attempt has stirred anger and disappointment among the public.

Expressing concern over the desecration attempt, Imran, a resident of Ajay Pal, filed a report against unknown persons at Sadar Kotwali.
