HYDERABAD – Asaduddin Owaisi of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is leading against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Bhagavanth Rao in the latest trends from the Hyderabad constituency.
After counting of 397858 votes till 11:45 am, Owaisi secured 201994 votes (50.77 percent). Rao secured 138348 votes, while Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s Pusthe Srikanth secured 29,551 votes. Congress candidate M Feroz Khan received 22863 votes.
As many as 8,76,078 votes were polled in Hyderabad parliamentary constituency. The constituency covers Malakpet, Karwan, Goshamahal, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura, Bahadurpura assembly segments.
Owaisi has won all the Lok Sabha elections from the constituency since 2004. The constituency was held by Owaisi’s father, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi for six consecutive terms since 1984 before he took over.
Meanwhile, markets cheered as the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NJDA) raced towards a majority on its own. The BSE Sensex 600 points and the NSE Nifty50 hit 11,900 mark.
