A viral video showing gratitude from Gaza has sparked an investigation, as seven locals are questioned over the aid sent via the Tehreek-e-Insaniyat Hind Foundation and Society
NEW DELHI/HAMIRPUR — Amid continuing Gaza genocide perpetuated by Israeli forces, a notable act of compassion has come to light from Maudha, a town in the Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Muslim youth from the area have sent financial assistance to the people affected in Gaza, a gesture that has earned widespread appreciation but also drawn scrutiny from local authorities.
A video showing a woman from Gaza expressing heartfelt thanks to the people of Maudha has been shared extensively on social media. The video features a female who openly thanked the Indian Muslim community for their support, a gesture that reflects the shared humanity that transcends political divides.
“We are grateful to the people of Maudha for their help during these difficult times,” said the woman in the video, whose message was shared by Abdul Shahid, a youth from Maudha, on his Instagram account. Shahid stated, “This is the second time that the Muslim youth of Maudha have extended financial aid to the people of Palestine. We stand with them in their hour of need.”
This act of kindness has sparked discussions across Maudha, with many locals expressing pride in the community’s efforts to support Gaza.
However, the goodwill shown by them has also attracted the attention of the authorities. Following the viral spread of the video, a special team from Lucknow interrogated seven individuals linked to the initiative. The questioning focused on the financial help sent via the organisation known as Tehreek-e-Insaniyat Hind Foundation and Society, which is reported to have coordinated the aid.
A senior police official, requesting anonymity, said, “Due to the sensitive nature of the international conflict and the video going viral, we have increased vigilance. We are investigating the authenticity of the video and the channels through which the financial aid was sent.”
Local administration and intelligence agencies in Maudha Kotwali are on alert, taking all necessary precautions to ensure the matter is handled with care. The investigation aims to establish whether any laws were breached in transferring aid and if there are any links to larger international activities.
Community leaders in Hamirpur have voiced support for the youth involved, highlighting their genuine concern for humanitarian causes.
Imran Qureshi, a local community elder, said, “It is heartening to see our young people come forward to help those suffering in Gaza. Our faith teaches us to support the oppressed, and these efforts reflect the true spirit of Indian Muslims.”
He added, “We hope the authorities will consider the humanitarian aspect and allow such goodwill gestures to continue without unnecessary interference.”
The residents of Maudha have rallied behind those questioned, emphasising that their financial aid was purely for relief and not linked to any political agenda.
Abdul Shahid, responding to the investigations, said, “We only want to help innocent people caught in conflict. It is unfortunate that an act of kindness is being misunderstood.”
This incident has raised important questions about the challenges faced by the country’s Muslims who wish to support global humanitarian causes, especially those involving Palestine. Despite political sensitivities, many feel the community’s efforts deserve recognition rather than suspicion.
As the investigation continues, the people of Maudha remain hopeful that their goodwill will be understood and that their support for Gaza will inspire others.
