Gaza Endures Another Devastating Night Despite Ceasefire Talks, Trump’s Order

Date:

GAZA — Residents of the Gaza Strip endured another devastating night with relentless Israeli attacks, particularly in Gaza City, despite ceasefire talks and Trump’s order to halt the bombing.

Air strikes targeted several residential buildings, especially in the Tal al-Hawa area, the Shati refugee camp, the Nassr and Jala’a neighborhoods.

Civil defence crews are still scrambling to retrieve the bodies of people killed in previous attacks, the rescue agency said, operating without sufficient fuel or adequate equipment.

Medical sources said at least 24 Palestinians were killed on Sunday in Israeli attacks, including four aid seekers who were shot near a GHF aid distribution centre north of Rafah.

The attacks come as Israel and Hamas are preparing for indirect negotiations in Egypt, amid hopes for a possible agreement on ending the Gaza genocide based on Donald Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan.

Following Hamas’s positive response to his plan, Trump said that “Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza” so that the captives could be released.

World leaders also welcomed the group’s response and called on Israel to stop the genocide immediately.

Early on Saturday, Trump said he appreciated that Israel had “temporarily stopped the bombing” to give a “chance” to the deal to be completed.

However, Israel continues to bomb the Palestinian enclave as the genocide enters its second year.

According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, more than 2,700 families—comprising over 8,500 individuals—have been completely wiped from the civil registry. Among the victims are at least 1,015 infants under the age of one, as well as 1,670 medical workers, 254 journalists, and 140 civil defence rescue personnel. — QNN
