Israeli army claims attacks target nuclear facility in Isfahan

TEHRAN — Israel launched a fresh wave of airstrikes targeting Isfahan and Shiraz in central and southern Iran on Sunday, according to Iranian media.

The ISNA news agency reported that a facility linked to Iran’s Defense Ministry was struck in Isfahan.

However, Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee claimed that Sunday’s strike in Isfahan targeted a nuclear facility.

There has been no comment from the Iranian side about the Israeli claim.

Thick smoke was also seen rising from Shiraz after Israeli strikes, but no information was yet available about the target of the attack.

The semi-official news agency Tasnim also reported an Israeli drone strike on the headquarters of the Tehran Police Department.

Minor damage was reported to the building, and some officers were injured, the broadcaster said.

Israel launched coordinated airstrikes on multiple sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, on Friday, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes within hours.

Israeli authorities said that at least 13 people were killed and more than 370 others injured in Iranian missile attacks since Friday.

Iran, for its part, said that 78 people were killed on the first day of the Israeli assault, and scores, including children, were killed on the second. — AA
