Dr Ajoy Kumar, the party spokesman, regretted that the country's print and electronic mainstream media were ignoring Adani's operations and the actions that different countries were taking against him
NEW DELHI – The Congress continued its “Narendra Surrender” campaign, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was like a “serial surrenderer” who kept giving in. The party pointed out that he had given in to Gautam Adani and China after giving in to US President Donald Trump.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here on Thursday, the party spokesperson Dr Ajoy Kumar asserted that Modi had not only surrendered before President Trump, but also before his friend Gautam Adani and China.
He claimed that although the party did not oppose independent companies or capitalism, it was vehemently opposed to Modi’s “crony capitalism,” which involved him pushing his friend Adani solely and taking over all of the nation’s businesses. It can wipe out India the way it has wiped out Russia, he claimed.
He expressed regret that the country’s print and electronic mainstream media were ignoring Adani’s operations and the actions that different countries were taking against him.
Despite Adani being chased out by countries like Kenya and Tanzania, he alleged that Indian embassies and diplomatic missions abroad were being made to help and serve Adani’s interests in different countries. Kenya and Tanzania have cancelled Adani’s airport and port projects, respectively.
Dr Kumar referred to the US’s strong reservation about Adani having reportedly imported LPG from Iran through his Mundra port in Gujarat. He alleged that Prime Minister Modi has endangered the country’s future just to promote and protect his friend, pointing out that if the US decides to sanction India, it will meet the same fate as that of Russia.
Referring to China, he reaffirmed and reiterated the party stance that instead of showing the ‘Laal Aankh’ (anger) to China, Modi has given it the ‘Laal Salaam’ (Communist salutation). He pointed out, neither Modi nor any of the delegations that have gone across the world to present India’s case in the aftermath of the conflict with Pakistan have ever mentioned China’s role in supporting Pakistan with weapons and missiles.
Not just that, he added, China was building the world’s largest dam on Brahmaputra, which will change the geography of the north-east and also its water needs, yet Modi or anyone from his government had not spoken a single word against it.
He said this was a complete surrender before China.
Summing up, Kumar said, these are so far three parts of Modi’s surrender; part one is surrender to Trump, part two is surrender to Adani and part three is surrender to China. No other prime minister in the country has surrendered the way Modi did, he underlined. He taunted Modi, saying he has not surrendered when it came to banning the PUBG game and TikTok in India.
