With her father’s unwavering support, Taiba Afroz of Saran district proves that dreams are achievable through hard work and sacrifice

CHAPRA — Taiba Afroz, a young woman from the small village of Jalalpur in Bihar’s Saran district, has made history by becoming the first female commercial pilot from her region. Her incredible journey is a testament to the power of determination, sacrifice, and the importance of family support in overcoming financial and societal challenges.
Since childhood, Taiba dreamt of soaring in the skies, and despite coming from a humble background, she turned that dream into reality. Her father, who runs a modest grocery shop, played a pivotal role in her success. In a selfless act of dedication to his daughter’s future, he sold his land to fund Taiba’s education and aviation training.
“I wanted to fly since I was a little girl,” said Taiba. “When I shared my dream with my father, it was a huge challenge for our family, but he always believed in me.” Her hard work and academic excellence led to full support from her family and relatives, who stood by her through every hurdle.
Taiba’s father’s sacrifice was the foundation that allowed her to achieve what seemed impossible. “My father is my hero,” Taiba explained. “Without his encouragement and belief in me, this achievement wouldn’t have been possible. His support gave me the strength to continue, even when things were tough.”
Currently holding a Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) license, which is granted by the Government of India, Taiba’s story has become an inspiration for many, especially young girls who aspire to break societal barriers and follow their dreams. “If girls are determined, they can achieve their goals with hard work, no matter the challenges they face,” Taiba said confidently.
Her success is not only a triumph for her family but also a significant milestone for the district of Saran, where she now stands as a beacon of hope for many young women aspiring to follow unconventional paths. “There are countless opportunities for girls in aviation, but confidence and courage are key to seizing them,” she added.
