NEW DELHI— In response to the Delhi Assembly election results, Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its victory, which marks their return to power in Delhi after 27 years. Priyanka, however, acknowledged the disappointing performance of the Congress party and stressed that hard work and staying connected with the people were crucial moving forward.
Speaking at a gathering in Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi remarked, “It was very obvious from all the meetings that people wanted change. They voted for change. My congratulations to those who won. For the rest of us, it just means that we have to work harder, stay on the ground, and be responsive to the people’s issues.”
She added, “We must remain grounded, sensitive to people’s problems, and continuously engage with them to understand their concerns more effectively.”
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, in a statement after the election results, also extended his congratulations to the BJP, acknowledging the people’s decision. “We accept the decision of the people with full respect,” Kejriwal said. “BJP will live up to all the hopes and expectations with which people have given it a majority.”
Kejriwal reflected on his party’s work over the past decade, emphasising their efforts in sectors such as education, health, water, and electricity. He said, “We have worked a lot in the last 10 years in the opportunity given to us by the people.” Kejriwal assured that while the AAP would act as a constructive opposition, they would remain engaged with the people during both joyous and difficult times.
