PALAKKAD – A court in Kerala’s Palakkad issued a non-bailable warrant against yoga guru Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, the co-founders of Patanjali Ayurved, following their non-appearance in a criminal case.

The case was filed by the Kerala Drugs Inspector against Divya Pharmacy (the marketing arm of their Haridwar-based pharma company Patanjali Ayurved) over alleged misleading medical advertisements, as reported by Live Law on Sunday.

The court issued the warrant to ensure their presence on February 15. Earlier, the Palakkad District Court had issued bailable warrants to the accused for their appearance on February 1.

The case against Baba Ramdev, Balkrishna, and Divya Pharmacy was registered in October 2024 under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.

The case pertains to the company’s misleading advertisements in the news media falsely claiming that Patanjali products could cure high blood pressure and diabetes.
