Muslim Man Saves Devotee’s Life at Kumbh Mela with Timely CPR

PRAYAGRAJ — In a dramatic situation that unfolded at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela here, a Muslim man saved the precious life of a devotee after he suffered a heart attack. 

Farhan Alam Idrisi, a volunteer from Prime Rose Education, sprang into action and provided prompt medical assistance to 35-year-old Ram Shankar, who had collapsed due to a cardiac issue.

A video of Idrisi’s humanitarian act has gone viral on social media. It shows the volunteer’s swift and decisive action, – giving CPR to the devotee.

CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It helps save a life during cardiac arrest when the heart stops beating or beats too ineffectively to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs.

Idrisi has earned widespread praise and admiration for his selfless act.

The Kumbh Mela, the world’s largest religious festival, is celebrated in a 12-year cycle at four sacred sites. 

As per local officials, up to 400 million people will take part in the six-week-long event.
