NEW DELHI — A group of Hindutva supporters brutally assaulted a Muslim youth and forced him to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans in Rajasthan’s Ajmer on Wednesday.

The attackers, led by a man identified as Jeetu Bhati, thrashed Sameer Qureshi forcing him to raise the Hindutva slogan and live-streamed the hour-long assault on Instagram.

A video that went viral on social media shows the Muslim youth appearing to be severely injured and pleading with the group to stop beating him. However, the group did not show any mercy and continued to beat Qureshi black and blue.

The victim is now hospitalised and is said to be in critical condition.

Jeetu Bhati is heard calling Sameer a ‘Pakistani Muslim’ and abusing him verbally while being live, recording the entire incident.

The video shows one of his accomplices kicking Qureshi and punching him in the face repeatedly.

When Qureshi is asked to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’, in a petrified state, he repeats it. But this doesn’t stop the attacks.

The young victim sits bleeding as Jeetu phones many other men. They also accuse him of being a ‘racist’ and ask him to say “All Hindus are my brothers.”

At least four men are seen in the live video, with some using masks to hide their faces. No arrests have been made so far.
