Anwar, father of Jafar, said that the scuffle broke out with the land owner when they were fishing in the field.

“The field owner suddenly came and started abusing us. I never realised that the field owner’s target was my son. A few moments later, my son also arrived at the scene. Then, he started thrashing my son. I tried to rescue him but he could not. He hit my son with stones and called some people from the village,” he said

Anwar said the villagers came with sticks and starting beating Jafar. Anwar again tried to rescue but all his efforts failed. However, Jafar rescued himself and tried to flee the scene. The villagers gave him a chase on bikes and again overpowered him.

“He was murdered. Satya, his son and other relatives are involved in this. They must be arrested and his house should be demolished;  the way houses of others are bulldozed,” said Anwar.

Family members of the deceased also alleged that the accused have political connections.

Meanwhile, the police said that they were informed about the missing of Jafar. The family members had filed a missing complaint. Thereafter, a search operation was conducted in the local ponds and his body was found.

The police are investigating the case.
