A Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha leader claims he has put the posters

HYDERABAD — A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has put up posters at various temples of Hyderabad city calling for boycott of halal products.
On Saturday, Rakshit Sagar Rachakonda, who describes himself as a member of the RSS and a leader of the BJYM (Youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party) took to social media platform X to announce that he had put up these posters which say “Dear Hindus, Say No to Halal Products”.

Installed Say No to Halal Banners at various temples in Karwan and Jiyaguda area of Bhagyanagar. Appeal to my Hindu bandhus to boycott HALAL and its products at least during our festivals,” wrote Rachakonda.
The posters are under the banner of Shri Kesri Hanuman Yuva Sangathan.
Halal products are often targeted by the BJP and its ideological affiliates. In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP-led government had banned certification of halal products and took action against organisations which provide the halal certificates. Some Muslim leaders were also arrested.
In February, the Supreme Court ordered that no coercive steps were to be taken against Halal India Limited and Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra in connection with a criminal case pending against them in Uttar Pradesh over the ban on halal-certified products.
Petitions were by both the Halal India Limited, which engages in production of halal-certified products, and Jamiat Ulama e-Maharashtra, the state branch of the Muslim scholar body Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, had challenged the UP-government’s ban of November 18, 2023 on manufacturing, storage, sale and distribution of halal-certified food products.
Hindutva groups and leaders have been targeting halal products in different states intermittently. Now, these groups seem to have set their eyes on starting the communal campaign in Telangana.
