HYDERABAD – Noted social activist Khalida Parveen has appealed to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to consider fielding either K.T. Rama Rao or Harish Rao in the Gosha Mahal constituency to ensure the defeat of controversial BJP leader Raja Singh, who has gained notoriety for his hate speeches.
Khalida Parveen, in a media statement, said that the Gosha Mahal is a diverse constituency with a substantial Muslim population. She said nearly 28% of Muslim voters in the constituency would support the BRS candidate if it fields a strong candidate like KTR or Harish Rao.
“Raja Singh has earned notoriety as a serial offender, with a staggering 101 legal cases against him. This alarming indicator of his suitability for public office raises concerns about his ability to represent all constituents impartially, given his divisive rhetoric and polarizing actions,” she said.
She said Raja Singh was suspended from the BJP after he used disrespectful language against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Although this act has cast a long shadow over his credibility and raised concerns about his ability to gain the trust of all voters, particularly the Muslim community, the BJP revoked his suspension to field him as a candidate in the coming Assembly elections. If elected again, Raja Singh will continue his hate-mongering activities. Therefore, by ensuring his electoral defeat, such hate-mongering can be stopped, she said.
Khalida Parveen said that the BRS party should not take the Gosha Mahal seat lightly and it can snatch it from the BJP only by fielding strong candidates like KTR or Harish Rao. Further, she appealed to all secular voters in the Gosha Mahal constituency to unitedly defeat hate mongers like Raja Singh.
