NEW DELHI – In the aftermath of the recent communal violence in Haryana, where small businessmen, street vendors, and stallholders were among the hardest hit, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, led by President Maulana Arshad Madani, has stepped forward to provide essential relief and support to those affected.

Recognizing the devastating impact of the violence on the livelihoods of the middle and lower-income segments of society, Maulana Arshad Madani dispatched a delegation from Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind to assess the situation in the affected areas. The delegation meticulously compiled a list of over two hundred individuals who had been unemployed since the riots, unable to restart their businesses due to financial constraints.

Responding to this dire need, Maulana Madani promptly announced that Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind would offer immediate relief to these individuals to help them regain their financial footing and support their families. As a result, a delegation led by General Secretary Mufti Syed Masoom Saqib Qasmi and Maulana Azhar Madani, the Office Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, established a relief camp in the affected area of Nuh. There, they distributed financial aid to 200 needy individuals, with each person receiving twenty thousand rupees.

Grateful recipients of this assistance expressed their gratitude, highlighting the unique support provided by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind. While many organizations and individuals had offered condolences, it was Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind that took tangible steps to alleviate their suffering.

Maulana Madani also announced future plans for rehabilitation work in the affected areas, including providing new housing for those who had lost their homes during the riots. He emphasized that many residents in Nuh and its vicinity were still living without proper shelter or in temporary huts, as the state government had not yet assured their rehabilitation.

Explaining the rationale behind the generous aid of twenty thousand rupees per person, Maulana Madani noted that this amount would provide a cushion for these small businesspeople. He reiterated that Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind’s commitment to relief and welfare transcended religious boundaries and was grounded in humanity.

Maulana Madani further emphasized the broader societal impact of riots, asserting that they harm not only individuals but also the country’s development, economy, and reputation. He praised a recent peaceful event in Nuh, the Jal Abhishek Yatra, as a positive example of what could be achieved when the police and administration fulfill their duties effectively.

Addressing the need for police accountability nationwide, Maulana Madani argued that this would be a crucial step towards eradicating communal violence. He condemned the biased media coverage that often perpetuates negative stereotypes and fosters division.

Maulana Madani concluded by highlighting the tragic targeting of places of worship during recent riots, underscoring the importance of respecting all places of worship, regardless of religion. He called on political leaders to prioritize unity and the welfare of the country over divisive religious politics, which he deemed perilous for the nation.

In this time of crisis, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian relief and support stands as a beacon of hope for the victims of the Nuh riots, transcending religious lines to heal wounds and rebuild lives.
