NEW DELHI — Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) on Tuesday started a three-day online workshop to train all 101 Pre-Primary and Elementary School teachers of the schools run by the university.
‘The decision came after successfully training its secondary and senior secondary school teachers on ‘online teaching and assessment’ recently, said the university in a statement.
The workshop is organised by the Department of Educational Studies of the University and will be inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar.
The teachers will be trained in creation and dissemination of e-contents, alternative online strategies using online platforms for conducting online classes such as Google Meet, Google Classroom and Google Tools for Education. They also be introduced to Open Educational Resources (OER) and open textbooks, NROER, ePathshala and other OER platforms, how they can be adopted and adapted and also online assessment.
“Experts from various premier organisations such as CIET, NCERT and DIET which are working in the field of educational technology and information communication technology for school education and teacher education will be training the participants”, the statement reads.
The university reveals that “G D Goenka Public School” and “Salwan Montessori School” will also be sharing their teaching and assessment strategies during this workshop. The first three-day online workshop was organised during July 6-8 to train secondary and senior secondary level school teachers.
